When care is grounded in relationship, it supports dignity, strengthens trust, and truly meets people where they are.
Meet Amanda Herndon
Amanda is passionate about supporting people living with dementia — and the care-partners who walk alongside them. Her approach is rooted in the teachings of Positive Approach to Care® (PAC™) founder Teepa Snow, mixed with plenty of real‑world wisdom from her years working in dementia care communities, skilled nursing, and in‑home care.
She earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Hospitality Services from Central Michigan University, and she didn’t stop learning there. Amanda holds three PAC™ certifications, is a trained yoga instructor, a Certified Activity Director (NCCAP), and a Certified Dementia Practitioner (NCCDP).
Originally from Michigan, Amanda now enjoys the quieter pace of ranch life in Texas with her husband and a lively crew of furry and feathered “babies.” When she’s not working, you’ll likely find her doing yard work, fixing something around the ranch, listening to classic country or old gospel music, baking, exercising, grabbing takeout from a favorite spot, or getting lost in her latest Audible pick. And every summer, she happily heads back north for her annual bass fishing trip — a tradition she refuses to give up.
Within Reach Care was created with one goal in mind: helping dementia care-partners feel more confident, more skilled, and more aware so they can offer the kind of care that truly makes a difference.
